Terms & Conditions

1. FEES
1.1. All courses are inclusive of VAT/TVA.
1.2 Payments made online is for the full value of the equipment rental.

2. CANCELLATION BY CLIENT
2.1 All cancellations must be done by the group leader.
2.2 Local CHX once notified by email of the cancellation will use its best endeavours to re-sell the equipment and cannot guarantee equipment will be available should the client wish to re-book.
2.3 Cancellations made more than 2 days in advance of the start date of the order (not the delivery date) due to Covid-19 will receive a full refund. Proof of not being able to travel or, a positive test which results in you having to quarantine/isolate and therefore not be able to ski will be required along with the cancellation request.
2.4 If the cancellation is not Covid-19 related, or proof qualifying you for the above Covid-19 Cancellation Policy (article 2.3) cannot be shown the following applies. Any cancellations made more than 7 days in advance of the start date of the order (not the delivery date) will receive a full refund.
Cancellations made 7 days or less, in advance of the start date of the order (not the delivery date) will receive a 50% refund.

3. CANCELLATION BY Chamonix Chalets Ltd. 
3.1 Should in the unlikely event Chamonix Chalets Ltd. Need to cancel your equipment hire a full refund will be offered. Chamonix Chalets Ltd. cannot refund any accommodation, travel or expenses due to cancelation of rental equipment.

4. HEALTH, FITNESS, WEATHER AND EQUIPMENT
4.1 Clients should be aware that winter sports are physically demanding and require a certain level of health and fitness. You undertake this at your own risk. Each client should satisfy him/herself that he/she is sufficiently fit, and in possession of the appropriate clothes and safety equipment.
4.2 Winter sports undertaken in the mountains are inherently dangerous due to acts of nature such as avalanches, extreme weather conditions, exposure and altitude. Clients should be aware and accept full responsibility for their actions whilst in this environment.

5. INSURANCE
5.1 Chamonix Chalets Ltd. is fully insured for Public Liability. It is recommended that all participants are covered by some form of travel and personal insurance; normally these policies cover cancellation, personal accident and personal liability.

6. LOSS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT
6.1 Loss of Equipment - You are responsible for the equipment we rent to you and are obliged to take every step to ensure the equipment is not misplaced or stolen. This includes taking measures such as swapping skis with other people in your party at lunchtime or using ski locks. We do not provide insurance for the equipment so you should ensure you have travel insurance that covers hire equipment. We will provide a receipt of your hire to you but you will need to go to the police to report the crime in most cases. We individually mark every pair of skis to ensure we know which exact piece(s) of equipment you have so you must ensure the same pair is returned to us.
6.2 Damage of Equipment - The equipment is all checked prior to fitting. You are responsible for letting us know of any damage prior to accepting the equipment. We accept that general wear and tear will take place but reserve the right to charge you for breakages or damage outwith general wear and tear.

7. EQUIPMENT DELIVERY AND COLLECTION
7.1 We will liaise with you prior to arrival and are flexible with delivery times. You must however be in your accommodation at the time agreed otherwise we will charge a return visit fee of 15 Euros to your order total.
7.2 Collection will be arranged at time of delivery or during the week. If pre-arranged you do not need to be at your accommodation at time of collection. You are liable for all equipment until time of collection.


8. PAYMENT
8.1 We accept payment online, by card or cash. Payment will be taken when you order online or when your equipment is delivered. Payment by card will be taken in GBP and converted using the current VISA exchange rate.

9. SAFETY EQUIPMENT
9.1 We take every opportunity to check the equipment and batteries prior to rental. Specifically relating to avalanche transceivers it is essential you check it is working with check station or other transceiver. You must also change the batteries as soon as the battery level if less than 70% of full power. Skiing with an avalanche transceiver must be accompanied with safe skiing in a group or with a guide. Please ask us if you would like training in the use of the equipment.
